Practical tour information

On this tour we start underground in Raufarhólshellir or the Lava Tunnel. We walk into the earth to explore the inner side of a lava tunnel in a 5000 years old lava called Leitarhraun. Inside we will explore colourful lava formations along with ice-sculptures made by nature. The cave is located just 30 minutes drive from Reykjavík and is easily accessed year-round. We explore the first part of the tunnels on an approximately one-hour tour with experienced cave guides. Helmets and head-lights are provided on site. Good shoes are recommended and warm clothes.

After we surface again we head on to the classic Golden Circle route with stops at Gullfoss waterfall and Geysir geothermal area with its erupting hot springs. Our final stop on this tour is Þingvellir National Park, where the continents; Europe and North America are being forced apart – and we walk between them. Lunch stop on the way (lunch not included in the price).
