An adventurous tour with a visit into a man-made ice-cave in Langjökull glacier. We start the day by driving from Reykjavik through the Hvalfjörður tunnel and up a rough gravel roads up to the glacier. At the glaciers edge we will transfer over to a specially modified snow truck that will take you up on the glacier to the Ice Cave.
The Cave reaches 200 meters in and 40 meters under the surface of the glacier. Many people say it is like entering another dimension, ice wherever you look and wherever you step. A glacier guide will provide crampons for your use in the cave. After the visit to the Ice Cave you go back to Húsafell where you take a lunch break at the restaurant there (lunch not included). After lunch we head towards Reykjavik and stop by two waterfalls, Hraunfossar, Barnafoss and Europe’s most powerful hot spring called Deildartunguhver. At last we take the winding scenic route along Hvalfjörður fjord on the way back to Reykjavik.
