Golden Circle & the Geothermal power
A Minibus tour
Practical tour information
A Golden Circle tour is not to be missed when visiting Iceland.
We add more value to this tour by focusing on the power of the geothermal activity in Iceland and how we use that power. We start with a visit to a geothermal power plant but the majority of the primary energy supply in Iceland is derived from geothermal power. At the geothermal power exhibition at Hellisheiði, you learn about volcanoes, hot springs, earthquakes and energy utilization through multimedia shows and guidance.
After the exhibition, we make a quick photo stop by a beautiful waterfall called Faxi and from there we drive to the powerful waterfall Gullfoss. Our next stop is the erupting hot springs of the Geysir area where you can see the geothermal power unleashed. Our final stop on this tour is Þingvellir National Park, where the continents; Europe and North America are being forced apart – and you can walk between them. Lunch stop on the way (lunch not included in the price).
