About this tour
Landmannalaugar is the rhyolite-mountain wonderland at the start of the Laugavegur Trail — Iceland's most famous multi-day hike. Even on a day visit, you get the geothermal river to soak in, the colored mountains in every direction, and lava fields you can walk through.
12-hour day from Reykjavík in a highland-rated 4×4 bus. Summer access only (mid-June to mid-September). The day at Landmannalaugar includes a moderate 2-hour loop hike up Brennisteinsalda mountain (yellow sulphur slopes) and time in the geothermal river.
Bring sturdy hiking shoes, layers, swimwear, and the packed lunch we provide. The geothermal river is 36–38°C at the wade-in point; bring a small towel.

Warm waterproof outer layer, sturdy footwear, gloves, and a hat — Iceland's weather changes quickly. Charged phone and camera. We provide bottled water on board; a small snack is wise for longer routes.
