About this tour
A 5-day expedition through Iceland's westernmost peninsula — the most remote, geologically dramatic, and least-visited region of the country. Towering basalt cliffs at Látrabjarg, the six-tiered Dynjandi waterfall, the historic fishing village of Ísafjörður, and the Hornstrandir Nature Reserve where Arctic foxes outnumber visitors.
Day 1 drives via Snæfellsnes to Stykkishólmur and the ferry to Brjánslækur. Day 2 covers Látrabjarg's seabird cliffs and the red-sand beach at Rauðasandur. Day 3 reaches Ísafjörður via Dynjandi. Day 4 visits Vigur Island for puffins and a working farm. Day 5 returns to Reykjavík via Hólmavík and the Witchcraft Museum.
Includes 4 nights' lodging in small Westfjords villages, breakfasts, ferry crossings, and small-group transport (max 12).
Day-by-day itinerary
1Day 1 — Reykjavík → Stykkishólmur → Brjánslækur (ferry)

Drive via the Snæfellsnes Peninsula to Stykkishólmur, then board the Baldur ferry across Breiðafjörður Bay (2.5 hours) to Brjánslækur. Settle in Patreksfjörður for the night.
2Day 2 — Patreksfjörður → Látrabjarg → Rauðasandur

Drive to Látrabjarg, Europe's westernmost point and Iceland's most dramatic seabird cliff (puffins, razorbills, fulmars). Afternoon at Rauðasandur, a 10-km red-sand beach. Overnight back in Patreksfjörður.
3Day 3 — Patreksfjörður → Ísafjörður (Dynjandi)

The mountain-pass drive to the Westfjords' cultural capital, with a long stop at Dynjandi — the six-tiered waterfall many call Iceland's most beautiful. Overnight in Ísafjörður.
4Day 4 — Vigur Island day trip

Boat to Vigur, a tiny family-run island with Iceland's only working windmill, eider duck colonies, and thousands of nesting puffins. Coffee and rhubarb cake at the island farmhouse. Return to Ísafjörður for the night.
5Day 5 — Ísafjörður → Reykjavík (Hólmavík, Witchcraft Museum)

Drive south via Steingrímsfjörður. Lunch and the Museum of Sorcery and Witchcraft in Hólmavík. Continue south to Reykjavík via the Hvalfjörður tunnel. Drop-off at BSÍ by 19:00.

What's included in the tour price?
All transportation, professional English-speaking guide, hotel pickup and drop-off in the Reykjavík capital area, and any entrance fees specific to your tour. Meals are not included unless explicitly stated.
What should I bring?
Warm waterproof outer layer, sturdy footwear, gloves, and a hat — Iceland's weather changes quickly. Charged phone and camera. We provide bottled water on board; a small snack is wise for longer routes.
What's your cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure for a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours are non-refundable. If we cancel due to weather or road conditions, you receive a full refund or a free reschedule — your choice.
Will the tour run if the weather is bad?
We run year-round and adapt routes to conditions. If a specific stop becomes unsafe, we substitute a comparable alternative. If the entire tour is unsafe, we contact you the night before with a refund or reschedule option.
Is hotel pickup included?
Yes. We pick up at designated stops in the Reykjavík capital area; your booking confirmation lists the exact stop nearest your hotel. The driver waits 5 minutes maximum, so please be ready 5 minutes before your scheduled pickup.
Can I bring my children?
Most tours are family-friendly for ages 6+. Northern Lights, glacier hiking, and highland tours have minimum-age restrictions detailed on each tour page. Children under 12 receive a 25% discount on most tours.
Are tours wheelchair accessible?
Our coaches are wheelchair-friendly with ramp access. Most stops are accessible, but some highland and glacier sites involve uneven terrain. Contact us before booking and we'll confirm accessibility for your specific tour and any adjustments we can make.
How small are the groups?
Day tours are capped at 19 guests. Highland and multi-day tours are capped at 14 guests. Multi-day expeditions to remote regions cap at 8. We never combine groups — your booking is your group.
